Those searching for an accurate antique price guide on a product might be interested to note an array of items from NASA are going under the hammer.

This includes the headset used to speak to Buzz Aldrin when he was completing his moon walk, the Guardian reports.

And the publication pointed out the sale is thought to be the largest ever one of space memorabilia from that era.

Other products include the power cable used on the Apollo 15 lunar module and signed flags from each Apollo mission.

Auctioneer Bobby Livingston stated everything in the 500-lot sale is guaranteed to be authentic, adding: "All the items have come straight from the astronauts themselves or from a small handful of private collectors. It's a chance to own something iconic."

This comes after a film was made about the Apollo 13 mission, which NASA called a "successful failure". The motion picture starred Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon.
