Antique valuation seekers may be interested in football mascot auction

A Liverpool FC mascot auction may interest antique valuation observers.

Sports Memorabilia

Antique valuation seekers might be interested to hear that mascot places are going under the hammer at Liverpool Football Club.

Up to 20 positions are available for the Reds defender Jamie Carragher's testimonial, with the proceeds going to charity, the Southport Visiter reports.

The Liverpool player's 23 Foundation - which raises money to help youngsters on Merseyside live out their sporting dreams - is set to benefit from the bidding, which will last until August 30th.

The game, which will feature Michael Owen and Emile Heskey among other stars, is set to take place on September 4th between a Liverpool XI and Everton XI and hopes to raise £1 million.

Cathy Elliott, chief executive of the Community Foundation for Merseyside which administers the 23 Foundation, said it is "a great opportunity for supporters of both teams to win a dream day while donating to the local community".

In addition, antique valuation observers may have also been attracted to news that sporting memorabilia from Southampton Football Club has gone under the hammer, VitalFootball reported.
