People looking for an accurate antique price guide on their belongings might be inspired by news that pieces from an historic Antarctic expedition are going up for sale.
Items from Robert Falcon Scott's expedition to the South Pole are set to go under the hammer with an antique price guide of between £150,000 and £250,000.
Sledding equipment, manuscripts, scientific instruments, skis and photos all make up the items that are set to be auctioned at Christie's, the Associated Press reports.
The trip began in 1910 and Scott reached the landmark in January 1912, but he died along with four others on the way back.
Nicholas Lambourn, director of Christie's exploration and travel department, said: "It has all the elements that define Britishness - Brits in homemade, stuck-together materials and supplies trying to do something and failing heroically."
The pieces belonged to Charles Seymour Wright, who found Scott's frozen body in November 1912.
Other historic items set to go under the hammer include first ever medal won by Lord Nelson, which has an antique price guide of £500,000.
