Antique valuation seekers may have noted news of one shoe horn's sale.

In news that may have caught the attention of those seeking antique valuations, a shoe horn has been sold for £8,800.

Rowley Fine Art sold the 17th century item for 11 times more than its original price estimate, Ely People reports.

It was made for Mistress Blake in 1612 by Robert Mindum, which may have been noted by fans of history.

The piece was created a few years after the death of Queen Elizabeth I and features a Tudor Rose in the design.

Auctioneer Silas Currie is quoted in the publication as saying: "It is an object that is so difficult to put a price on. It isn't intrinsically valuable but it is such an unusual item and a wonderfully personal piece we knew that if the right collectors saw it would do well."

Collectors may also be aware that Sotheby's is set to host an event at Chats worth House in Derbyshire later this year.
